Speak naturally
Describe your meal conversationally. For example:
- "I had a grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing"

Review and confirm
QBod's AI will parse your description and show matched foods with estimated portions. Review the list, adjust quantities if needed, and tap Log to save.
Photo Logging
Perfect for when you're eating out or have a visually distinct meal. Take a picture and let AI do the work.
Access photo logging
From the Home tab, tap Log Food and Beverage on the Nutrition card. Then tap the + icon next to the search bar and select Camera or Image Upload.
Take or select a photo
Choose to take a new photo or select one from your camera roll. For best results, capture all food items clearly with good lighting.
Review AI analysis
QBod's AI will identify foods in the image and estimate portions. Review the suggestions, edit any incorrect items, and confirm to log.
Note on Accuracy
AI-estimated portions are approximations based on visual analysis. For precise tracking (especially for weight management goals), consider verifying with nutrition labels or measuring portions manually.
Barcode Scanning
The most accurate method for packaged foods. Barcodes link directly to verified nutrition data.
Access barcode scanner
From the Home tab, tap Log Food and Beverage on the Nutrition card. Then tap the + icon next to the search bar and select Barcode.
Scan the barcode
Point your camera at the product's barcode. The scanner will automatically detect and look up the product.
Adjust serving size
The product will appear with its nutrition info. Adjust the serving size to match what you actually consumed, then tap Log.
Text Search
Search our database of over 5 million foods. Good for finding specific items or restaurant meals.
Open the search
From the Home tab, tap Log Food and Beverage on the Nutrition card. Tap into the search bar to begin typing.
Type your search
Enter the food name. AI helps find the best matches. You can search for generic foods ("grilled chicken breast"), brands ("Chobani Greek yogurt"), or restaurants ("Chipotle chicken bowl").
Select and log
Choose the matching item from results. Adjust the serving size and tap Log.

Tips for Accurate Logging
- Be specific about portions - "a large apple" vs "an apple" makes a difference
- Include preparation method - "fried" vs "grilled" affects calories significantly
- Don't forget condiments - sauces, dressings, and oils add up
- Log drinks - sodas, alcohol, and specialty coffee drinks have calories too
- Use Recent Foods - tap your history to quickly re-log regular meals (free, no credits)
